Best feast I have cooked . I delegated more than usual and cooked
some the night ahead. Made the day much more relaxing. Best part is that we did it Saturday when our family was in town so on Thanksgiving hubby and I slept in and watched movies all day!!
Here is what we had .
20 lb Turkey- done in oven bag- moist and tender!!
Gravy- went with gravy mix and added broth( mine usually gets lumpy)
creamed potatoes ( hubby whipped these at the last minute)
sweet potato casserole(best ever)fixed night before and baked last hour
dressing(daughter brought)
deviled eggs(daughter brought)
green beans- steamed crisp with a tad of butter
whole berry cranberry sauce- straight from the can- grandson's favorite
jello pretzel salad- too sweet- too much trouble- won't repeat
brown & serve rolls- want to do better bread next year.. cresent rolls??
dessert- store bought pies ( pumpkin tased funny)- I will do better
desserts next year.

Its funny I had 5 different dishes for the meal. There was a lot going on but I was relaxed and everything went off without a hitch.

Default Collective success

Everything was done on schedule and and was awesome . I (as chief meat manager) seasoned the turkeys 3 days ahead this year and they were really tasty through and through, and I made sure the ham came out before it dried.( last years error) We had enough dressing to build a sod house (various thicknesses/ delicious) All the sides were in perfect order; as usual. One of my sisters made 6 pies (3 pecan/3 punkin) and they were excellent. We were a little short on kitchen help and I was reminded that if I would get married we would have an extra set of hands around to help Now that's a selling point for a potential mate...sheeeze. Anyway, we had a blast and all in all it was great
