Any pizza is good pizza. Even bad pizza is good pizza. It might not be the wonderful expensive stuff, or anything like home made, but it is good.

Red Baron is on sale this week for $2 something at my local grocery (no coupons, darn it). If I can find the thin crust supreme, I'll buy it. Less than $1.50 for a meal (yes; half of that pizza is a meal for me) works for me!

I buy Amy's roasted vegetable pizza. Since I'm allergic to dairy/can't have cheese, their topping makes it interesting and I usually add some chopped fresh tomatoes and onions too.

I recently conducted a Walmart/Aldi's cheap pizza bake-off.

Walmart won.

Little Caeser's thin-crust (offered for a limited time only) is also very good.

My daughter gets a vegan pizza at our local shop. I thought I would miss the cheese, but it was delicious.

Saw a Motor City Pizza Company frozen pizza in the freezer section at the grocery store, a Supreme style. Being born, raised and living in Metro Detroit, I decided to try it out. Bought it about 5 days ago, took it home, put it in the freezer.

Cooked it up last night. Out of the box, it came in a cardboard tray and wrapped in plastic. Per the instructions on the box, removed the plastic, rearranged the toppings (they had shifted all to one side of the pizza), left it in the tray, and baked it in the oven for 21 minutes at 425 degrees. Took it out of the oven, left it to cool for several minutes, removed it from its cardboard tray carefully with a very large spatula (pizza was kind of floppy), and then cut it into six pieces.

Very mediocre pizza. Definitely NOT Detroit-style pizza. Lacked the pepperoni under the cheese, the caramelized edges, and the focaccia-style bread for which Detroit-style pizza is known. Per the ingredients listed on the box, a mozzarella cheese blend is used, not Wisconsin brick cheese. This is just a regular pizza in a square shape and thicker, with light burning/charring at some of the edges. Bread was doughy without the crispy outer crust expected for a Detroit-style pizza, almost soggy in parts.

Will not purchase again.
