Can One Freeze Bacon? (burger, frozen, cookie, bread)

I don't use bacon often (already eat crappy enough), but when you need it then it can really come in handy for soups (anything with beans) or fun breakfast...but can you buy a bit of good quality stuff and freeze it?
I have heard of people freezing it slice by slice on a sheet pan (fast freezing, easy use), but wasn't sure if it works. I know home made stuff (Good Eats/Alton Brown) can be frozen without a problem, however I live without that wondrous benefit of a cold smoker in a small apartment.
Absolutely! We could never go through a whole pound before it would spoil (just two of us at home nowadays, and neither of us has the kind of gallbladder that can stand up to bacon on a regular basis), so we always freeze it up. There is absolutely no impact to the flavor afterward.
I could see freezing it in single strips on a cookie sheet, I guess, if I had a whole lot of time and freezer space, but what I usually do is get a handful of pint-size Zip-Lock bags and put either 2 or 4 slices of bacon into each one and freeze it that way. I write the date and the number of strips on the little label patch of the bag, so we can keep track and be sure to use it all up, and so we can get the number of strips we need for whatever we're cooking.
As another benefit, if you cut up bacon for soups or flavorings, you'll find that partially frozen bacon is much, much easier to cut than totally thawed bacon is. It's a lot easier to get the pieces consistently sized, and it doesn't shred as much.
I generally buy two pkgs at a time. Fry all up about 3/4 cooked and place on a paper towel covered pie pan before freezing. The reason for 3/4 cooked is that when I'm making a burger I just place two slices on a paper napkin or towel in the micro for 10 secs and they are completly cooked and ready to eat. Same goes for eggs in the morning or with hot cakes or french toast...same usage. The bacon grease I strain and use for frying my steak or pork chops or any other beef for the bacon added flavor. subsound I buy 3 lbs. of bacon from the meat market at time. I lay the strips in single layers on cookie sheets to freeze, separted between layers with wax paper. Once it is frozen I put the strips into a freezer zippie. When I need bacon I take out however many pieces I need because none of them are stuck together in the zippie bag.
Don't forget to save that bacon grease it makes good flavoring to fry cabbage in, smashed and cooked pinto beans for refried, a little bit in a pot to make popcorn not to mention my fav use................. fresh green beans!
Oh yeah! I freeze bacon, sausage, everything like that. As a single person who loves to cook, I don't hesitate to freeze almost everything. I've found very little that doesn't freeze well..... a veggie casserole so far!!
I split everything into baggies...use the snack size for the bacon and sausage, parmesan cheese, buy the block grate or crumble into a baggie, pull out what I need for that meal, put in a small bowl before I start cooking and its thawed quickly!!
I always slice the bacon in half, (pound package) freeze one and the other store in the refridge meat drawer, works fine, and the slices fit on a sandwich better being that are half slice...

Oh yeah, I freeze everything I can not in a can...salad dressings (honey mustard, ranch) didn't do so well in my tries either
I always have roast pork, sausages (including home made), buns, ground turkey, and soup flavors (smoked turkey and ham bits) in there!
