All right everybody, before you ever eat or talk about eating ANYTHING ever again you'd better check with loose cannon to see if it's on the approved foods list!!

Well oranges can be very cheap and healthy when you get them by the bag...I would eat that after the ramen + veggie simpleton stew o' mine.

No, it's about eating while you're poor. Those all cost a lot more money, and except for the granola bar, don't keep as long.

If you're really poor, like me, you soak them in cold water for at least an hour, then drain them. Add the flavor packet, plus some garlic powder. Back when I could cook them, I would often add lemon juice or ponzu. I break mine in half, along the bend.

I went to the store to buy Ramen noodles today and the first ingredient was monosodium glutamate. I got scared!

Please stop calling them Ramen Noodles.
It's Ramen Soup, or Top Ramen, or Maruchan Ramen.
The word Ramen means Noodles.
When you say Ramen Noodles you are saying Noodle Noodles.

I haven't eaten this stuff (ramen noodles, ramen noodles, ramen noodles ) in 30 years. And as God is my witness, may I never have to eat them again!

(although I am copying the ideas in this thread ... you never know ... )

To make a hobo creamy ramen.... Skip the water and add a mayo plop instead. (1/2 the flavor pkt)
The fat makes it filling.

I call them Ramen noodles also. I happen to like them a lot....regardless of them being one of the cheapest foods known to mankind. The only brand of this 'soup' I don't like as well is the kind marketing under the Publix name. They have a funky taste. Not sure why.

Someone gave me a Ramen Cookbook at Christmas as a joke since I am always talking about eating them. They are great at keeping my weight down because they fill me up without eating so much. At 9 cents a bowl....can't beat it!

Anyway, you can check out this link for recipe ideas:
