See what happens when you don't make sure your chef has the proper licensing? Fugu is one of the things I will try when I get the chance. That said, it will be from a properly licensed sushi chef.
I had fugu in Japan and I survived! Meanwhile, I know people here in Hawaii who dive for blowfish and eat it on a regular basis. I will not be having some of that!
I had Fugu several times in Japan and it's absolutely fantastic, in my opinion. It's expensive as hell but it's worth it in my opinion. There's a bit of adrenaline as well as anticipation when you eat it too. It's one of those few things that you can actually get an adrenaline rush from eating. I happened to quite like it. It really adds a whole new level to "Adventurous Eating."
