Is going to McDonald's or Taco Bell considered "eating out", We go when I just don't want to cook.

As far as dining out in a good restaurant, very seldom. The portions are tooooo large as a rule, I hate leaving it, and I hate doggie bags worse. So I eat too much.

We don't eat out that often - maybe 2 times a month. Most often it's Wednesday. Nice break mid-week, plus it's $15 Special night at the bistro we like to go to near us. You get a small steak with a choice of fries, or potatoes and veg. Plus there's about 5 or 6 other $15 plates to choose from. We usually go with friends.

I feel like by Thursday we are sometimes ready for a break........and we usually go out one night on the weekend, most often Saturday. Of course, we always have exceptions: Sundays during football season we go out for brunch, and sometimes we go out on Tuesday or Weds. to watch another sporting event not on normal cable or just to socialize.

We have a tradition of eating Saturday morning breakfast at our favorite local diner nearly every week, so Saturday is definitely on the list for us. And once in a while, we look at each other and decide that we're both too tired to cook, something that seems to happen most frequently on Friday nights after a long week.

Beyond that, eating out is an occasional thing, not terribly common. If we're attending a concert downtown, particularly on a weeknight, we'll usually grab a bite downtown before the concert, but that's usually not more than a once or twice a month kind of thing.

It's funny in a way, because we live in a community with more really excellent restaurants than any place we've ever lived before. But most of the time it's really easier to stay home, to say nothing of being less expensive.

I said Thursday but in reality we rarely even go out. If we happen to be in the city we might go out or if we have some company which is extremly seldom we will go out sometimes. We "use" to go out always on Thursday and that was why I chose Thursday and after I voted I saw the choice that I could have chosen that we rarely go out!! We are on a very tight budget being semi-retired now and have not found many good places to eat anywhere close to where we live now!!

Same here..Saturday is our "main" eating out day where we don't mind spending extra for a nice place. Wed or Thurs we just go somewhere inexpensive such as Cracker Barrel, etc.

I voted Thurs., Fri., & Sat., since my h schedule & days off are different from work every week. We went out to Outback last night, and might go to play NTN trivia at our local pub tomorrow afternoon. So it really varies from week to week. The majority of our meals, break., lunch & dinner are made at home.

Anytime the cook doesn't have to cook, that's eating out to me anyway.

Now that no longer have any kids who live at home, I don't eat out as much as I used to unless I have plans with friends....usually somewhere between Fri - Sun. I am also single, so many times I don't even have to pay for meals out.
