I'm not talking Ale. The best beer I have had was in Germany, called Leacher or something like that. I didn't care for Viesen, it was too bubbly. Anyone making something similar? I figure someone has a good brew going.
too much of an open ended question! my husband is a homebrewer, has been for years. I think one of his best is usually his oatmeal stout. He also does a nice weis beer. also a whit, similar to blue moon.
Thanks for responding. The problem is, I have no experience with home brews, never had one. It was just something I thought of at the time I started this thread. Making your own home brew does sound good, I would think you could tweak it to what ever taste you wanted.
How about the Alcohol content? Can you make it any stronger, similar to the beer in Germany?

I know this is an old thread but I am a home brewer and to answer your question...yes, you can tweak the beer to whatever content you want. But, realize that whatever ABV you choose will change the taste of the brew. Homebrew is great, it is actually healthier than any commercially made beer. Why? Because home brew is not filtered as much and the vitamins that are in the grain, hops and yeast stay with your beer. No hangovers, and a better quality beer.
I am not saying to give up on the craft brewing industry, but when it comes to home brewing anything is possible. Just like cooking, you can experiment all you want.
