I have a special birthday coming up and I would love ideas for a nice, romantic restaurant, especially mid to lower Westchester. Any favorites?

off the top of my head:
LaPanatierre in Rye (French) - a classic - but very $$$
Emilio's in Harrison (Italian) - was wonderful, but I haven't been there in a while
Harvest on Hudson in Hastings (nice view and good food)

I know you said Southern Westchester, but Crabtree's Kittle House in Chappaqua may be worth the extra drive - another classic

I'm not that familiar with much in the far Southern Westchester area like Yonkers, Mt Vernon, New Rochelle, Pelham, Bronxville

hope this helps. good luck!

I stopped once at Jackson & Wheeler in downtown Pleasantville and had a great luxury brunch for a good price. The place looks kind of outdated, 70's-style, but it sure is romantic (Westchester style). The food is elaborate and non-conventional and I would go back any day.

Fuffi2000 in New Rochelle has pretty nice quality food for a decent price. It's a really warm atmosphere inside. Eastchester Fish Gourmet in Eastchester is nice. My family loves seafood, and these guys have some really fresh stuff. Turqouise in Larchmont is very good for Turkish and lovely inside and if it's not your thing Lusardi's is just a step away.
