i don't think a single person voted for USA because of hot dogs, anymore than they voted for Italy because they have a lot of pizza and yes, fast food. Micky D's is everywhere. As for Bagels, I don't think I get the point. I can assure you, I voted for USA because it is easier to get a variety here than in most countries. If you live in a moderate sized city or larger in America you can find almost any ethnic food you want within a half hours drive. That isn't true thrroughout the world. I don't think most of us think of Micky Ds as being a cuisine. We think of American cuisine being like American, a melting pot of everything.

The best street food I've ever had was in Vietnam, but I do love regional Mexican cusine. California has an embarassment of riches in terms of produce, so anyone there doing locavore food is probably doing some pretty great stuff too.

I voted for the USA, not because of hot-dogs, but two of my all-time fav meals, Maine lobsters and Steamer clams-use to eat them everyday-worked on a lobster boat growing up-never get sick of them!!

if you cook these in seaweed (called a clambake/lobsterbake) they have a slight smokey flavor- incredible!!

It is impossible to choose just one...

Italy and Greece for pretty much every dish.
France for pastries, bread, cheese/charcuterie, and many kinds of stews.
Argentina for barbecue and dulce de leche/alfajores.
Japan for sushi and many cooked fish dishes as well.

Greece and Italy. I've never been to either country but I do enjoy the food!

Tough decision for me, but I went with Thailand. I like spicy food.

My vote was for the US.

As a true melting pot, the US has all of the cuisines listed in the poll. While I like some specific types of cuisine better than others, to ask in general who has the best cuisine it has to be America.

If the question had been who has the best "native" cuisine, my answer would have been different.
