Like LaceyEX,

I always use Mayo instead of butter and it makes an amazing difference.

And I mix cheeses like provolone and pepperjack, and include diced jalapenos and bacon. Delish!

Not bad to dip it in. Especially, if like my kids .....someone puts too much cheese in it!! Slice and a half American about right..I'd really prefer sharp cheddar myself. Don't really melt the cheese though. Totally different taste .

Sometimes I use mayo on the outside instead of butter. Although I'm usually not a dill pickle liker, I do like to put them in Grilled Cheese. A thin slice of tomato is good, but not a thick one which makes it watery.

I just remembered I like to dip them in sour cream. Better than Ranch D.F.!!! Nomad you could put the jalapeno in the sour cream.

Wow I just made that tonight. Took whole wheat bread, tomato slices and cheese and put in microwave so it wouldn't be fattening. What a coincidence that that was my dinner.
