Gosh, I am gone 1 day and come to find out my d friend Lacey was in the hospital. What happened girlfriend. When I was telling you about my "furry child" being sick this past weekend, you never mentioned not feeling well. How are you feeling now? More tests tomorrow? Prayers on its way to you.

Dinner last night was Outback, 1/2 rack ribs and fries.
H had steak, baked potato and salad.

Crazy day here again today. I will check back later and let you know what dinner will be. Have a nice afternoon. kelsie

Lacey do you have any cast iron skillets? Some times I can't give blood because I have too much iron. We figured out a long time ago it had to come from my skillets after we paid to have our well water tested. Boy low iron will sure make a person very tired huh?

Jax I had so many and they were my grandma's but when we moved I gave them all to a neighbor who loves to camp. I do have one left tho.

Kelsie-no no hospi stay-just tests as I'm anemic and they don't know why. They felt I have an internal bleed somewhere-so far none found.

Hi everyone. Wow, Lacey, you have had a time of it lately, huh? Hopefully this all gets figured out soon and you get the proper care to make you feel 100% again. I will say prayers for you that it all comes out well.

I know with all my moving lately that I am behind in my some of my regular checkups. I think I will make calls today and schedule those appts. As hard as it is to wait on pins and needles for results, it is better to catch anything early and even better to know all is well.

Thinking hamburgs tonight. I have so many mushrooms and tomatos left from the veggie tray I made for the BD party and I don't want them to go bad. So, I was thinking of sauteing mushrooms and slicing tomatos and cheeseburgers popped in my mind. I have to go to the store to get buns though~ugh. I also had a Honeybaked Ham and I need to come up with something other than bean soup. I have never made au gratin potatos so I might look that one up~unless any of you wonderful chefs have a good tried and true recipe you want to share??

Hope you all have a great day!!!

I've always heard that the body can't absorb iron from spinach (all vegetables?) well because it's the wrong kind of iron, so most of it just passes through. The iron in red meat is the "right" kind.

That doesn't stop me from loving my spinach but it might not benefit us as much as we think....

Kimba-do you have tortilla wraps or english muffins for those burgers? I had a quesedilla burger and it was great.

Yes-Debsi-think you're doing all the right things-and I am a red meat lover.

Hey, Lacey. Glad that's all over for you. We'll still keep you in our thoughts for tomorrow's fun, tho.

Boneless pork chops tonight. Not sure of sides yet. One side, however, will be our first ripe tomato off our little vine. Mmmmmmm......

I have some sirloin strips marinating in teriaki marinade.....I also have some sliced mushrooms to use up .... will make rice and either a salad or some frozen peas.

Well there's an idea: rice with peas and mushrooms......given time it all comes together.

Last edited by elston; 04-21-2009 at 01:49 PM.. Reason: put the rice mushrooms and peas together

It is soooo beautiful out, I'm reading to start barbequing and eating at the picnic table! But I've been super-busy the last few days, ans will be again tonight w/kids' activities...fortunately last night I had enough forsight to pull out stuff for the crock-pot. Beef cooked in golden mushroom soup...now I have to make rice or noodles and get some veggies in the pot too!

OK, DH bbq'd the pork chops. I reheated the leftover black beans and rice (I think we've found a new side we both like) and we also had green beans and creamed corn, with fresh cukes and, yes, our first tomato from our garden. Yum!
