I just finished some more Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice-cream and I was thinking, this is good, but it would be *really* good if it had some kind of kick to it, like liqueur.

Ben & Jerry's also makes a flavor called Dublin Mudslide that actually has some Irish cream liqueur mixed in. It's really good.

Has anyone else tried or made ice-cream with a little alcohol in the mix?

W.

A little Bailey's Irish Cream is good over coffee ice cream, and Fragelico is good over vanilla ice cream. Add the nuts and whip cream if you're really in a tizzzzzz!

Gosh, I never even thought to pour the liqueur over the top. What is wrong with me? And yes, fresh whipped cream sounds good. I can't stand that cream whiz stuff that shoots out of a can though.

Yep! Me too! And Malibu, Bailey's and a while back we had a bottle of this devine Spanish sherry that smelt like raisins that I loved on Vanilla icecream.

I had a friend that loved pouring Blackberry Nip over ice cream and there's heaps more I've had, Cointreau, Grand Marnier, Frangelico, Tia Maria, Kahlua.

It's fun to try different liqueurs on different flavours of ice cream too.

Oh and I'm with you woof woof! Give me REAL cream or don't bother!

The best dessert after an elegant dinner is a Frozen Grasshopper. Green Creme de Menthe and vanilla ice cream in a blender with a tiny bit of milk so it is more liquefied than soft-servish. It is a delicate dessert shake for those old enough to indulge in the finest things in life. I like it served in a chilled wine glass. Garnish with a chocolate curl.

My version varies only slightly from the official recipe:
http://www.drinksmixer.com/drink3644.html

Frozen Mudslide
1 oz. vodka
1 oz. coffee liqueur
1 oz. Irish cream liqueur
1 scoop vanilla ice cream
Blend all ingredients, and pour in a chilled old-fashioned glass.

Kirsch is nice over vanilla or chocolate ice-cream. Same with Grand Marnier.

Then there's Cherries Jubilee which is flambeed with brandy. That, over ice-cream is divine, with a little extra brandy
