Well, this should be interesting.

Dr. Pepper still makes a sugar-product. All Dr. Peppers bottled at their plant in Dublin, Texas, are still made with Imperial Cane Sugar. The Dublin plant never refit to accommodate the corn syrup, so they just keep pouring in the bags of sugar. You can only buy them in Dublin, but they will ship them to you. Including shipping, they cost about a buck a can, but they are regular price as any Dr. Pepper if you happen to be passing by.

I'm glad to see it back for a while, and you can bet I'll stock up while it is here.

HFCS isn't good for your body and we shouldn't be using it as a sweetener. Real sugar digests a lot easier, has always tasted better, and Coke and Pepsi would never have switched to HFCS if the government hadn't put a tariff on sugar and subsidized corn syrup.

The past few years there has been a buzz around Passover about Kosher Coke and Pepsi made with real sugar. Corn is one of the forbidden grains during the observance. Apparently the products attract a lot of non-Jews as well. I managed to snag a few of the yellow capped bottles the past couple of years at a regular grocery store. It is shipped along with the main stream product so it will sell out while still fresh. It is good but the coke still doesn't taste the same to me as what came in those thick green bottles.

I drink Blue Sky cola, which is made with organic cane sugar. Honestly I think it tastes even better than Pepsi/Coke. I get the kind with ginseng, and it tastes like that Mr. Green soda that was out a few years back. Their regular cola is good too.

DH drinks Dr. Becker by the same brand, which is (shockingly enough) their version of Dr. Pepper. It tastes almost the same, but a little less bite and almost a maple flavor. I love the stuff.

I remember drinking Blue Sky drinks. It's been awhile though. I did notice that not all use sugar, some lines do, so you'd have to read the ingredients.

Also, most Coke from Mexico is made with cane sugar.

This is awesome! Whenever I travel to Mexico I drink Coke because it's made with real sugar. The bordegas here have Mexican made Coke products imported. It's so much better. Good for Pepsi.
