Muskmelon = cantaloupe? Yes it sounds weird, but something I'd be willing to try!

I use fresh and powdered garlic in my soup/stew/braising recipes. They each provide a unique flavor profile.

Sometimes you should just resist the urge to post.

Bacon-wrapped asparagus trios cooked on a grill is one of my favorites.

BTW - I'm in Dixie, so I'm well-aware of the "Southern insult."

Aww, c'mon now. Ain't nothing wrong with some good old dehydrated garlic powder. I love the stuff.

And, btw, thinking about this dang thread, I went to the store today expecting to find asparagus at under $2/lb and it's still at $3.99! I didn't get any.

And, I actually prefer the ones that are as thick as tree trunks!!

Wait, you mean cantaloupe with asparagus? Or with the Proscuitto? Or both??

Asparagus is my favorite veggie. I like it steamed, grilled, or roasted. I think I prefer roasted. I love it cold the next day.

And yes, I do suffer from stinky pee.

I only use powder when I don't want garlic pieces interfering with the texture of the dish. No reason to be a snob

i'm not crazy about garlic powder, but sometimes it's the only thing that will work--like on top of a pizza slice.

i haven't seen any cheap asparagus yet, but i haven't been to the produce market which is always cheaper than the local supermarkets.

i don't mind the fat asparagus spears, either. sometimes the lower half needs to be pared. i usually slice them diagonally into thirds or quarters.
