i like the oive and cream cheese sandwhich...i will change for cocktail party for pickup o'duvrs by using regular seasoned cream chees, olive, crouton w/ basil to garnish; egg, cream cheese, olive on croustade w/ basil or parsley garnish; and olive, cream cheese, bacon on croustad w/ chopped tomato-basil as garnish. very dry martinis and other goodies. thank you for the vegetarian idea. when you have time, a little more detail on doenjang jjigae? are ya'll vegetarians/ veggans?

Taco party July 4th weekend. We will have San Diego Shredded Beef, carne asada and marinated chicken breast made on the charcoal grill (a-hem we'll put some men to work), and you could twist my arm into ground beef filling for the taco wussies.
I Am Woman and I will supply all of our favorite homemade hot sauces and salsas... and guacamole of course!!
Mmmmmmmmmm... We could call it Tacomania Weekend!
Count me in, Debsi! I will be there!
Soldier son made it home in one piece. We had, ta dah....tacos!...the night he came in. Thursday, he visited with old friends and we went to a local barbecue place that was, as usual, excellent. Friday, he and a couple of the "adopted sons" tore down an old shed in the back yard (lots of laughter and horseplay during the demolition) and they will all descend again today to erect the new one. Last night we had a "burrito bar" and tonight will probably grill...they are all clamoring for green chile cheese burgers. After the new shed goes up, the rest of the time he is home will be "play it by ear." He leaves Thursday to return to his duties.
Hope everyone that is ailing is feeling better.
Nomad, so glad the wife is home and healing. Prayers for your son.

DH is home from his travels, so back to the burners tonight. Roast pork loin, with Jezabel sauce, mashed potatoes, asparagus, artisan bread, and strawberry rhubarb crisp for dessert. The PWDLA (people who don't like anything) are coming over to help us eat it all. The Jezabel sauce is just to shake them up a little.
HL, I can see your great smile all the way down here. Congratulations to you and your husband. I know how proud you must be.
skbs, get some well needed rest girlfriend.
lacey, I am glad that mr. l is doing better today, you get some rest too please.
Ahem---George, I received a panic stricken email from MWBW & NMS, that ONCE AGAIN, you & your bus left them with severe dehydration in their garages with food that was beginning to spoil. I not only had to run to give Dasani water to the mid-West, I had to fly to Fl. All because of your empty promises, and where were you----at a fancy, 5 star Gourmet, air conditioned restaurant. You really did it this time mister. Mom always said, what goes around, comes around.
I think tonight I am going to make a roasted 1/2 chicken, Yukon Gold potatoes and steamed asparagus.
Another beautiful last day of Spring here in E. NC 93 degrees with the heat index of 100.

I was doing the same thing this afternoon
Shrimp/butter/oil/wine/garlic/red-pepper flakes/lemon over fettucini along with garlic bread is the plan for tonight with maybe a walk down the street for gelato.
I have a small rib roast in the oven, smells sooo good! Haven't a clue what to make with it, mostly because I really don't feel like making anything else, lol. I'll let you know later what I decided.
