Isn't it awful. we have a really small little one only a few miles from here. I did stop by yesterday morning and ended up feeling sorry for the venders so I picked up a couple of things: the one gal had 3 kinds of squash: med sized yellow zuk for .75 each; reg yellow for $1 each and the giant sized zukes for $1.00. Unless you want to stuff them, why would anyone buy the giant sized ones. there were a few cukes, a few peppers (whiched looked awful) and one gal was selling baskets of plums. I bought 2 baskets for $5.00 and will make plum butter this afternoon or tomorrow. They did have tomatoes as well, but I have enough tomatoes to last the rest of the summer. that is the one thing that did amazingly well this year.

Jlawrence: I agree, the prices are out of sight as a rule, but I do like to get a few things, the produce is so fresh..and if you have a reason to buy in bulk, and they have enough, you can get a pretty good deal..

I didn't go this week. It was just too hot yesterday, even early in the morning.

We were in Fayetteville, AR last week and we went to their market. I really like their market. We bought brussel sprouts, blackberries, various peppers and some heirloom tomatoes.

I went about a week ago and sadly, I bought nothing. There wasn't much to choose from. I suppose I could have picked up some jelly or a nice blanket. Honestly, much of what was being sold were trinkets and whatnot. I specifically wanted peas and other veggies to put away for the winter.

This drought is a beast.
