Everyone likes applesauce with many different variations of preparation.
As for me, I like the cinnamon flavor and chunky...not the mushy water mix sold in the markets.
Chunky Applesauce can be eaten with a meal...put on French toast...pancakes...or as ice cream topping...take your pick.
6-8 apples (green/fuji) not the Snow white or Delicious type.
1 tbls ground Cinnamon.
1 tbls LIME concentrated juice.
1/4 cup of sugar.
1/2 cup of water
Peel apples...cut out core...cut into very small chunks.
Place cut up appples into a good size pot.
Add water...sugar...lime juice...sprinkle in cinnamon.
Cook on low heat for 20-30 mins while stirring often.
You can smash the end result into a mush or just leave chunky.
Place applesauce into a sealable glass container or a reusable plastic container with a lid that potato salad may come in. I have a couple of nice ones that have worked real well in the past. Saves me buying tupperware.
I make my own applesauce as well. Nothing better than the real thing. Next time, I'll have to try lime juice. Thanks
