Nice!!!

My summer foods are usually the veggies from my garden...
Like yesterday's harvest of my first radish by DD to be in my salad.
So salad is a big fav. for summer.

Not a harvest (maybe if you considered clippings) but clipped off some tops & leaves from my chinese mustard, yu choi & chinese kale to quick blanch & stirfry then topped with oyster sauce to make that chinese vegetable greens side to go with chicken porridge some days ago.

Making tons of fresh salsa when my tomatoes, peppers become available.
Cilantro, bunching onions are standing ready.

Corn on the cob... grilled or boiled....
Waiting on them.... my white silver queens.

Fruit salad, grilled pineapple (or the new grilled watermelon)... tons of grill & grill foods, BBQs & the awesome blossom charcoal smells all remind me of summer.

Yum yum summer foods.

Yay for summer foods. I planted garlic for the first time in my life and can't wait for fall to come...otherwise summer veggies are great on the grill.

I grill almost every meal. I haven't found a veggie that isn't good grilled....brush a lot of them with Italian dressing or just olive oil.....I grill lots of pineapple too. Cool salads are always a must on a hot day.....add some meat with taco seasoning and make the salad a Taco Salad.

Grilled corn on the cob and huge portebello mushrooms on a bun are great, topped with some other grilled veggies and you think you are in heaven.

that reminds me! I'll have to pick up some zucchini and yellow squash when I'm getting groceries today! I haven't put those on the grill yet this summer! I also like to put potatoes, onions and peppers all diced up and in foil with lots of butter and salt and pepper on the grill. Especially good when it gets a little bit crispy on the bottom. yum yu.

from now until about Oct our fridge is filled with wonderful summer fruits and veggies. Some come from the garden, some from the farmers markets and some I can only get at the local grocery store. Today, I bought strawberries, a small watermelon, blackberries, mango, broccoli, and tomatoes. I have squash and beans in the garden and hopefully the tomatoes will be getting ripe in the next week, as well as cukes.

we love to grill this time of the year, so we keep a lot of pork and beef on hand, more than in fall and winter. Of course one of the best parts of summer is fresh, home grown herbs...anynoe want some of my mint?
