I'm making a pot of homemade chili for our late lunch/early dinner today. It's in the crockpot right now, and it smells delicious. I'll probably make my husband some cornbread to go with it, or maybe we'll just have crackers. Still have some no-bake cookies left, so that's what dessert will be. (It's really COLD here!)

Today's lunch will be homemade vegetable soup with grilled cheese sandwiches. We're also having chocolate pecan brownies for dessert.

Just made shrimp fried rice...

And at the very end decided it could use a pinch of red pepper flakes and the top fell off while doing so. I tried to salvage it but it tastes like Red Pepper fried rice. I don't even like red pepper flakes at all!

Anyone know a method of saving a dish that has way too much pepper in it? I either can throw it away or put more rice and try to save it.

A ham sandwich on a wheat roll and a cup of coffee. Just finished watching a great movie on LMN, and thanking God I do not have to go out in that snow. My husband weathered it to run some errands. He stopped at the store and came back with a bag of oranges as big as grapefruits. I'm going to have one for dessert. Best to enjoy it now, who knows what the citrus crop will be like with the Florida freeze. He also brought home bananas and walnuts. Guess somebody wants banana walnut bread for breakfast tomorrow.
