I've read that Whole Foods is opening a 50000 sq ft store on Turkey Lake? Anyone else hear this?

I am all for more natural foods, especially organic, and I have noticed that organic is getting cheaper and more plentiful. It's not just for hippies anymore.
we had those here. I would have to drive 3 hours.

There is a difference. I for one prefer to not eat hormones, bovine growth hormone- and whatever other carcinogens are pumped into food to make it cheaper/last longer.

Walmart is a horrible store with disgusting labor policies. I only shop at Kroger- everything is higher but at least Im not supporting oppression of uneducated workers. Be happy you have a choice.

If you cannot taste the difference in real organic v. commercial offerings, save some $$ and die sooner.

Can you notice a slight difference in strawberries from Sears or one from a farm?

And did you know, a local 8 y.o girl was recently CURED from (full blown) premature puberty due to poultry hormones via homeopathics?

Such ignorance! It's not a "rip off" to pay more for quality!!! Whole Foods produce section is about 98% ORGANIC!!! Publix has organics & hopefully their Greenwise will be all organic, but in the meantime, nothing beats the selection at Whole Foods/Wild Oats.
Couldn't tell you about their meat - I mean, I said HEALTHY! Even if meat weren't bad for your body, it's certainly bad for the psyche! I won't get into it...
When it comes to my health & well being, $ is not an issue! Obviously you need to stay within your budget, but if you're buying mostly produce, most people could afford it! Also, if organics were the norm, the price would come down...But as long as the propaganda persits & the factory chemical disease causing farms exist, those that wish to be healthy must pay...

I don't find it to be a rip off. Not when they carry produts that other stores don't carry.

No. They don't. You obviously don't know much about what vegetarians eat if you think that most other stores carry all the products. Not a chance. And the products that regular stores do carry aren't really cheaper they. Why? Because like at Publix they are found in the "natural" or "greenwise" section of the store and they jack up the prices because of that!

If you were a vegetarian you would think twice about Whole Foods, I guarantee you that. You make such statements as a meat eater that can easily find a meal on every corner and a store filled with everything you want every couple of miles.

Its also hard to find Natures Food Stores- they have prepared sandwiches and such. It is hard to find a place to eat lunch many times if you are vegetarian. Even when I lived in PBC- I do remember Publix organic- and yes it was jacked up- 5.00 for a small pomegranate juice-lol

Again, I'm not trying to put down vegitarians, but I do have to dissagree with this statement:

Quote:
For the most part the only thing people really enjoy about meat are the natural fats and added flavor from the chef.
Just as much as vegetarians look for the perfect non-meat products, I will search far and wide for the perfect steak. Not pre-made fatty ground up hotdogs or burgers, just a fantasticaly good cut of sirloin for the grill.

In fact, the best fresh cut of steak that I have come across lately was at Sams. Don't know where they got these cuts, but that steak would cost you over $50 in a restaurant.

If Whole Foods would cary really good quality cuts of beef, I might be a little more inclined to pay the extra cash to get them....well, that's if I can't find the same thing at Sam's. Or, how about some gormet strips of venison or rabbit!
