Or is it all in the eye (or mouth) of the beholder. I tried some Dublin Dr. Pepper made with cane sugar. Some people swear there is a real difference between more directly natural sources of sugar and HFCS (sugar processed out of corn).
Do you think there is a difference in taste? Do you think if you could be in a taste test you could tell?
Hansen's tastes great with the low level cane sugar. It's all about degree of sweetness with me. Too sweet is not fun. Low calorie naturally sweetened and naturally flavored is the goal. I hate artificial sweets.
I remember a very distinctive flavor of Coke in those green glass bottles that is missing today. I don't know if it was all due to the sugar.
Th quality of the syrup back then was so good. Pharmacies sold the coca cola syrup to people for a variety of ills, mainly stomach problems. Times have changed. Darn it.
Yes. And I've done this with an "accidental" blind taste test. The difference really is dramatic.
When Pepsi first put out their Throwback sodas, I didn't hear about it. One day I grabbed a Mtn Dew out of the store fridge, and opened it on the way home. As soon as it hit my mouth, I knew something was different because it tasted just like I remember it tasting when I was a little girl. That's when I noticed the Throwback label, and I look for it everywhere now. Yummy!
Absolutely. When I came to England, I could immediately tell there was a difference but at the time, didn't know what it was. Discovered later it was the lack of HFCS. I don't care how unhealthy it is, I prefer HFCS.
