How many of you out here like it?
I made it for the first time last night for regular Friday night house guests. Mine was very simple, 3 avocados, 1 roma tomato, handful of cilantro, diced jalapenos, green onions and salt and pepper. Tell me what other ingredients you use. Some recommended regular onions but I prefer the flavor and the color for this purpose of green onions...I got rave reviews...it was so good.

I always hated it in restaurants and such. I grew up with TexMex food, too. I sampled some made by a friend of mine and now I love it! Fresh avocados and lime or lemon with some cilantro, onion and "'maters". It seems I can't eat it if it's smooth, homogeneous mix from a blender. Then it's like baby poop! If it's hand mushed and fresh...awesome! I really wish I had a molcajete for just that purpose.

I normally eat my avocado straight so to speak. Salt and a dab of white pepper with mayo. I do love Guacamole without the Cilantro. Did you use small avocados or large ones. I have the large FL variety growing all around me and they should be ripe soon.

Oh yes fresh lime juice as well. I used the small avocados...I love the big Florida ones but I eat those "straight" as well. I have never used Cilantro before and everyone told me be careful as it can overpower the dish so I slowly added...I tell you the freshness of that dip made it great...the only thing that was not fresh was the jalapenos...I will use fresh ones next time rather than from the jar.

I make it the same and use whatever onion I have, with the lime juice, and tomato. I go easy on the cilantro, as the taste of that to me is overpowering, but I will beat it eventually...

Guacamole tacos are a special treat at my local taco place Tippy's Taco House - A La Carta Menu (http://www.tippystaco.com/a_la_cart.html - broken link)

I don't put cilantro in mine. I don't like the taste - it takes like soap to me.
I do, however, add a clove of minced garlic.

try some tomatillos in there. I rarely have bad guac at restaurants, but when I buy store-bought or make it at home it's not as good. I never know the exact right moment to open up an avocado. I can't stand any of that brown stuff in it. : (

I make it a number of ways but my fav is just avacodo. For tacos I will sometimes just use slices.

I dislike tomatoes or cilantro in it, or very much lime.

I just heard a recipe where you grill/roast the onion, tomatoes and avacado halves first, sounds good
