Hi Kat, I don't cook sauerkraut and sausage. I cook pork roast and sauerkraut. Over in the recipe section there is a thread on pork and sauerkraut and I list my method there (passed down from my mother's mother). Hope this helps!
There is also a recipe in my Good Housekeeping cookbook that involves brown sugar and pineapple. If you'd like that one, I'd be happy to share it!
Thanks! LOL (I said sausage because all I have on hand is smoked kielbasa type sausage! )
I am going over to the recipe section now! Thanks!
This week in the case abode, I'll be doing grilled mahi mahi with beans and hush puppies, and I'll finally get around to the Frito chili pie that I couldn't get to last week. The fish will need to be thawed overnight. Also on the menu for later are some smoked brats on hot dog buns (toasted and having plenty of yellow mustard), and Salisbury steak with veggies towards the week's end.
Tonight we are having breakfast for dinner. Hot sausage, grits, scrambled eggs, biscuits. Chocolate angel food cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert.
Day off and busy cleaning inside and out after being gone for most of the week...pork chops on the grill, sauteed onions and mushrooms, and thinking cheddar-garlic mashed potatoes and green beans...
