Found frozen Thai dumplings at Trader Joe's. You just steam them and dip them into hoisin sauce and they're really good.

Dim sum. I've had some of the popular dishes in dim sum separately before (various dumplings, buns), but I'd never been to an actual dim sum restaurant. It's all very tasty--even the chicken feet!

Oh...I tried ginger ice cream. Didn't like it much though.

I started buying doughballs from my local pizzaria this year. It beats the store-bought stuff by a mile and I can have a homemade pizza in the oven in less than 30 min.
Cheaper too ($1 for a 12" crust).

The other new thing: adding vodka (to replace some of the water) in my piecrust. Try it some time.

My own Swiss Chard. First time grower. Worth it. Next year I want to try leeks. I spend too much $$$ on leeks.

On the wine front: Ménage à Trois Red. Under $10 per bottle at your local Target. You can grab some before the dinner party while you pick up the paper towels and laundry soap. How handy is that?

Whoops, that was four things. Sorry.

Ground chicken by Tyson. Never saw it until I moved out to the MIdwest-way better than ground turkey-I use for a healthy stuffed meat loaf.

smoked oysters were okay... looked like tiny chicken livers (which I love) so i tried them. they were actually good & would be a good snack if no one else is impacted by the odor.

Butternut Squash curried soup. I have always been reluctant with Pumpkin and Squashes and usually find them quite bland and boring but this was one of the nicest soups I had had in years. I shall put my prejudices aside from now on and embrace the Squash family fully ! Still not a fan of Pumpkin pie though...
