Mpope - If you have the desire to share your Parmesan crispy recipe, I'd love to hear it. Sounds yummy. Or better yet, can I come over?!

I don't eat half of it, but for mom, I'll make her favorites:

Appetizer: Artichoke, black bean, red pepper salad
Main course: Chateaubriand, Caesar salad, asparagus
Dessert: Creme brulee, port wine
Snack: Baked camembert with almonds & hazlenuts
Afterwards: 4-hrs on the Nordic Track. Well, that's what she'll be doing. I'll be watching a movie...

Happy Mother's Day! ...VV

Well, I didn't bake the chateaubriand enough, so the crust was doughy. Well, we improvised & just discarded the topping. My mom loved the salads & I added alfredo noodles as a side. Dessert? One glass of port wine (which she loves but I wouldn't touch unless I wanted to dye white curtains fuscia) & she said she'd have to forgo everything else. Yep, mom was a bit tipsy. I escorted her downstairs, so she didn't tumble on the steps & she promptly went to bed, at 5pm. But, she had a smile on her face & was humming. So, all in all, it was a good Mother's Day.

How did everyone else's go? Great, I hope!

Have a great week everyone... VV

Great day here, got in 18 holes before our late lunch and then got the kids in bed early and enjoyed the wine and bread pudding, then...

Hope everybody else had a great day.

Default Happy Mother's Day eating!.... and what will you have?

To all those who celebrate Mothering Sunday tomorrow (14th March), here's wishing you a wonderful day!

It's traditional (in the UK anyway!) for many families to give mum a treat by having some kind of special meal on Mother's Day - so she doesn't have to cook.... breakfast in bed maybe, or taken out to a pub/restaurant for Sunday lunch - often a roast.

So moms - what will you be doing?

Hope you all have a great day, and enjoy your special meal!

Yeah, you had me panicked. Had the family forgotten Mother's Day...TOMORROW!?!

Phew. Dinner varies. Some kind of shellfish makes it more special, but the focus is always on the desserts. Cheesecake, for sure. Probably a fruit tart as well.

Sorry to scare you Desserts: surely the way to a mom's heart

My mother told me how (when she was very, very young) she kindly treated her mother to breakfast in bed one Mother's Day ... she used the water from her hot water bottle to make her mum a nice cup of tea.

It was rubber-flavoured and luke-warm... but her mummy was delighted
