Cheese.

Food of the gods.

Goat cheese, feta, brie, muenster, butter cheese, farmers cheese, Maytag bleu cheese, every other cheese known to mankind.

It's all good.

You betcha!

Outstanding with a ripe pear, good crusty bread, and a full-bodied red!

I just had a piece of Havarti with dill from trader Joe's that was quite good.

Ha ha! Dinner tonight, crackers, Balsamic vinegar cheese, a honey crisp apple, and a light cider.

Can life get any better?

Friday, will be Brie, pepper jelly, French bread, grapes, and a Pinot Noir we have been saving.

I used to eat a lot of different cheeses...brie, cheddar etc...but I find myself buying a yogurt from PA almost all the time now. It is mild, and great for the way I eat cheese...in chunks. On sandwiches, I like sharp cheddar. I used to also just eat chunks of brie, but it is probably more fattening, and it is too messy.

I'm not a wine snob. I know a few 'types' but not brands other than what I see when I go to buy (I've always wanted to get into, but it's a huge topic). So I just got a bottle each of your basic types: REDS: shiraz, merlot, chianti, cabernet blanc and sauvignon, zinfandel, malbec, beaujolais, pinot noir. WHITES: pinot grigio, savignon blanc, chardonnay, reisling, moscato. I'm likely missing one or two others.

I tend to like dry whites myself.....and I (gasp) like my red chilled, too.

As for the chocolate FOR GUESTS: I got Godiva...FOR ME I had some gourmet chocolates I got in New York at Petroissian, Vosges, Teuscher, Jacques Torres, Kees, and La Masion du Choculat. The guests weren't getting those No way!
