Winston Churchill once predicted that it would be possible to grow chicken breasts and wings more efficiently without having to keep an actual chicken. And in fact scientists have since figured out how to grow tiny nuggets of lab meat and say it will one day be possible to produce steaks in vats, sans any livestock.

Ewwww. Our grains like soy and corn are already genetically modified now, must we eat lab-grown meats as well?

That's not meat. Sorry, meat comes from an animal, and its flavor is made up of the life of that animal (where it lived, what it ate, how much it got to wander around naturally, how it was slaughtered, etc.).

Nutritionally, I can't imagine that this is comparable, for similar reasons.

This is just an extension of humanity's God complex.
