Maybe one of them can get me to like oatmeal. Unless it is in cookie form I can't find any way that I am willing to eat it, but I keep trying.

I use the Irish steel cut oats and put in unsweetened applesauce and cinnamon.

First off, I never NEVER EVER eat that packaged lots-o-sugar added oatmeal with all the flavorings (Brown Sugar, Peaches and Cream, etc.) because that stuff is bad for you. I always get the plain old Quaker Oats and sometime the trader joes steel cut oats.

Depending on my mood, I'll put in:

Dried cranberries (craisins)
Whey protein powder (chocolate, rocky road or vanilla flavored)
Slices of banana
Honey and a capful of vanilla flavoring

I usually make it with water but sometimes I also use whole milk.

A pinch of salt, a dash of cinnamon, and some honey.

I don't eat the pre-flavored oatmeal either. I would rather have my food without the additives/artificial flavors, etc.

I have never thought of trying vanilla. Now I know what to try tomorrow!
