I have about 2 cups of leftover batter from some homemade fish and chips that I made this evening. What do I do with it now, besides make more fish and chips, lol?

Broccoli is very good, cut into small florets so they cook thru.

And mushrooms! (with a side or cream gravy or ranch)

Fry green beans or asparagus. Or, you could whip up some salmon cakes and fry them, even in the same oil!

So, I posted the same question in the UK forum and got an interesting reply. Basically, one poster said that she'd throw it away or just fry it itself and give it to the birds if I used it to dredge the fish through.

I did use that batter to dredge the fish through it, so if I use it for other uses is there a risk to get sick from it? Or in your experience was it OK?

In all honesty, if you've dredged anything but veggies in it I'd probably toss it or feed it to the birds. Is it really worth the potential for food poisoning to save $.25 of batter?
