Today, French bread pizza. Tomorrow, I should have a stew ready.

Um...I don't know how to make stew, at least not with some of the ingredients I'm adding.

Had a portion of ropa vieja in the freezer, basically shredded beef, onions, garlic, bell peppers, in tomato sauce seasoned with cumin and oregano, boiled up some rice and dinner was done. Baked up a quick Bisquick shortbread, whipped up some cream, and got out the strawberries.

Not exactly Lean Cuisine but tasty

BBQ country ribs, baked potatoes & corn had DQ blizzards for dessert that were in the freezer.

While we were in town earlier we stopped at DQ for their buy one blizzard get the 2nd one for .25 sale. That place was packed as we all were stimulating the economy and expanding our tummies.

TKramar try listing the ingredients for your stew maybe we all can help ya.

my room mate told I should brown the pork for stew, and the parts of the beef marrow bones that I could before adding any water. Brown them in oil (but I had leftover bacon grease to use up). That was one thing I didn't know. As far as the vegetables go, I asked on the Vegetarians subforum. I added rutabaga, parsley root (similar to parsnips and carrots, but NOT the same as the former, as it turns out), and carrots. My room mate suggested that I ALSO add some potatoes--but I didn't really want any.

Put some leftover leek parts in it that she didn't use in her dish and was going to toss, for flavoring, some garlic, salt, and half a bunch of parsley.

I don't plan to actually eat the leeks or parsley.
