Any of you watch the Sopranos the other night? They made something called Lincoln Logs. It looked like some kind of hot dog. Anyone know exactly what they are and how they are prepared.

There was a discussion at a food site about that episode--

Here>>

Hawkeye48,
There are different ways to make this appetizers, like say you could go and buy your favorite Hot dogs, or Italian sausage yummy, also don't forget to get a certain kind of bun-Like the ones you buy to make hero sandwhich so
when splayed open it presented more like a double-thickness
So Hot dog/or Italian sausage of choice
Mayo or cream cheese or better yet a little of both
Cheese of choice
Now prep:
Cut the roll or bread in half, then layer it with cheese and what I like to do is put in the oven to melt for say 3 mins. and then add the mayo and cream cheese along with meat of choice you can also top with tomatoe and drizzle a touch of extra virgin olive oil, also stuffed cheese olives on the side sooo good!! I have to say if you like this dish, you just might like (Neapolitan Crostini ) should try it sometime, well along with the other posts hope this helps!
