Callard Bowser nougat.This was my favorite. They discontinued making it.
Planters peanut candy pieces in a red tin.
Brachs a mini cushion soft white candy with bright green inner filling tasted very minty, do not know the name.
I think also from Callard Bowser a deep blue tin with transparent white soft like jelly candy.
Unknown brand assorted sliced sugared fruit jellies. Sold in a very pretty tin.
All these I remember from the sixties.
Dutch Treats Peanut Butter Pillows. Little golden pillows with a thin golden candy crust, filled with peanut butter. You can still buy them today.
Oh I used to love those! Haven't seen or heard of them in many years!!
Re: candy or other kinds of food- I often don't know whether it's a matter of the products are no longer made, or are regional and not available here.
Two I liked very much: the boxes of assorted color mints called Merri-Mints, and one of the best candy bars ever created called MilkShake.
one of my earliest candy memories is buying an ABBA ZABBA on a summers day at the corner market, and the warm weather made the candy very flexable like a rubber band and it could be stretched out.
ROCKY ROAD candy bars used to be made better back then , they had a foil red wrapper and they had a thicker coating of chocolate with nuts
Hershey bars used to have a whole piece of almond, now they use small broken pieces
Jolly Ranchers were the most affordable since they were penny candy, you buy a whole pocket full with a dime
Necco Wafers, RIP. It appears that a Toledo company called Spangler Candy bought the brand. Their web site says "Look for an announcement about the availability of this product."
