What do you cook on, do you like it, why or why not...
We just moved into a house down in AZ this week. Electric stove... I have cooked on gas for years and am contemplating cooking in the 5th wheel for more complex things due to the control with the gas...sheesh...
Gas! I really like how gas gives me the ability to better control my cooking temps.
I grew up in an electric household, my Mom insisted on it. I started cooking on gas as soon as I joined the fire department, and I never cooked on electricity again. I insist on gas.
I suppose the perfect setup would be a gas cooktop with an electric oven, as that's supposed to be the best for baking, but I crank out pretty good baked items in my 25 year old gas range.

Pray that stove doesn't break because what you will replace it with will be junky. Gas ovens are nowhere near what they use to be and even repairmen will tell ya that. Treasure your oldie but goodie one.

True.. no more Western Holly's, Chambers or O'Keefe & Merritt's & Tappans like they used to build them. They just aren't built as heavy or as well anymore. Controls have improved although they are cheaply constructed. Part of our new policy of lets give the technology to other countries and let them build it. We can buy from them...
I'll stick with straight gas. Gas is actually safer in my opinion. Not to mention more efficient.

I do,and I love my old Magic Chef, but I'm actively looking for a Chambers.
