Is it better to drink from a glass glass than a plastic cup (not the throw away kind the meant to be put in the dishwasher reusable kind)?

I have been reading all about plastic leaching into the water and am wondering if perhaps a real glass is the way to go?

I like both.

It depends on what kind of event or occasion I'm at or participating in. Like if I'm at a hotel pool, then I'll have my drink in a plastic cup. But if I'm at a bar or restuarant, I prefer a glass.

It all depends on where I'm at and what I'm doing for the day.

I'm thinking for daily office use--I try to drink around 32oz of water while at the office and currently drink from a plastic cup--I'm wondering if switching to a real glass would be better from a toxins standpoint.

I'm of the belief everything is better in glass. However because of it's durability I use a lot of plastic glasses. There are toxins ..resins and who knows what chemicals leach into foods. Especially in a Microwave oven. I don't want to drink from any container coming from China. Could be nuclear waste used in it's manufacture..

I lean over and drink out of my hand under the faucet. If it's something that comes in a container, I drink right from that---beer can, milk carton, juice bottle, whatever. Members of my family have a don't-ask-don't-tell policy on that.

Pour some water, drink it. Plastic isn't going to deteriorate that much in half an hour. I'd be more concerned about the quality of the water. Really, you'll be fine. There are larger issues.

Most of my beverages are poured into a large stainless steel milkshake cup, except for my coffee, which is put into ceramic mugs.

I eschew plastic for hot drinks, but have no problem with cold drinks in plastic cups.

I think it's the softer/thinner grades of plastic like for recyclable bottled water that are supposed to be worse than "permanent" plastic drinking glasses that go in the dishwasher and can be reused for years.

My personal preference is to drink from glass. However, often I refill water bottles and pour the water from there into a glass so...

I just switched out all our plastic water bottles for everyday sipping and for exercising to stainless steel water bottles.

I just like the feel of glass in my hand versus a plastic cup.
