I will be hosting a bbq at the end of April, for about 40 people and I am tired of the same food. Here in MN we have the typical bbq foods of hot dogs, hamburgers and chicken. With potato salad, macaroni salad, beans a variety of chips and condiments, fruit, and dessert. It all sounds good but its played out. I need something new. What do you have for a bbq? Any good ideas, i'm hoping for something different thats not too dififcult.

how about some ribs! or chicken wings. the wings would be first cooked on the grill and then submerged into a marinade of EVOO, lemon ad fresh parsley.

1. shish kabobs(shrimp, chicken, or beef) with onions, peppers, mushrooms etc
2. attach a rotisserie to your grill and put on a whole chicken or roast pork
3. fish(salmon, tilapia, or flounder)
4. seafood salad (shrimp, scallops, crab, celery, green peppers-mixed w/mayo)

How about a big fresh lettuce salad using romaine and other lettuces? A raw veggie tray with dip, fruit bowl mixed together with fresh fruit or frozen, apple salad, baked macaroni & cheese or cheesy potatoes.

On the grill smoke or Italian sausage, brats, ham steaks or kielbasa.

Wrap corn in foil with butter and honey (a LITTLE bit) and stick it on the part of the grill farthest from the heat for guaranteed sweet corn. Marinate a brisket for 24-48 hours in 1/4 cup cider vinegar, 1/2 cup lime or lemon juice with crushed garlic, sliced onion and some peppers (bell, red, jalapeno, anahiem), salt & pepper and then grill fat side down for the first 2 hours, flip and grill fat side up for 4-8 hours (size thing-40 minutes per pound or so). Yummy. Grill slices of fresh pineapple, mango, papaya, peach, pear, lemon, lime or whatever. Amazingly good.
