Okay, so I went to Wal-Mart tonight. I was bored and there are some things that I needed to get for my kitchen. One of them is a measuring cup, the other is a cutting board. Given that I pretty much only eat meat when it is very, very "well done", I'm usually either taking in liquids or eating something crunchy or snacking on a fruit or vegetable.

I am up for some suggestions on SIMPLE recipes that......you guessed it.......involve using my cutting board AND my measuring cup. You see, when I buy something I like to use it right away. (It's that kid in me that I don't want to give up. Every first snowfall has me grinning from ear to ear.)

At the moment I have NO baking experience whatsoever, so please keep that into consideration.

What about a chicken salad......1 cp of cooked, diced chicken and on your cutting board you could chop up the lettuce, diced some onion, tomato, possibly slice up a cucumber too. Then top with shredded cheese and your favorite dressing.

Guess what, tulips? I'm going to make your suggestion my first recipe to break in my new cutting boards and measuring cup. So, on my next paycheck I'm having chicken salad.

I add grapes and walnuts or pecans to my chicken salad. Tastes great.

And or mandarin oranges, and toasting the nuts beforehand...

Do you not like cucumbers, or was there some other reason they were just a "possibility"?

I'm going to the store today to get some chicken, apples, oranges, bananas and a cucumber. (if I can keep a straight face).
