If you found out that you were going to die tomorrow, but could invite five people to sit down to a meal and discussion with you today, who would you invite and why? They can be alive, deceased, not born yet, fictional, whatever, whomever. What would you serve?

1. My father (just to see his face again)
2. Hillary Clinton (I have a tremendous amount of respect for her)
3. Oprah Winfrey (Same as with Hillary plus I just want to say I dined with Oprah)
4. Candy Crowley (She seems so interesting to me. I'm a big political buff and her Beltway coverage is some of the best)
5. Dennis Haysbert (When all the other guests leave we can have a um, private conversation).

I don't even care what's served at this dinner. We could even grill burgers and dawgs. Beer would be the beverage of choice.

Excluding personal friends and relatives :

Only 5 is really hard though and way too small for a dinner party !

I'll chose 5 of my top 20 people at random:

Montaigne
Oscar Wilde
William Morris
Thomas Payne
Mary Wollstonecraft

But I would ideally like to add a few extra ones like :

Ernest Shackelton
Saki
Ghandi
John Steinbeck
Leonardo da Vinci
Macchiavelli
J-P Sartre
Audrey Hepburn
Samuel Hearne
Danton
Bruneschelli
Robespierre
Guy de Maupassant
Emile Zola

and many, many more

Menu to be :

Assorted Hors d'oeuvres and Assortment of sushi and sashimi
Seafood platter ( spider crab, langoustine , king prawns, mussels, lobster etc.. with home-made lemon mayonnaise)
King Scallops with black pudding and cauliflower sabayon
Grapefruit sorbet
Fillet steak with poached pear spiced sauce ( or Bearnaise ), served blue with potatoes Dauphinoises and Wild Mushrooms
Artisan cheeses and Artisan breads
Grand Marnier Souffle
Home made dark truffles

My mom
My dad's mom (whom I never met)
My sister
"Uncle" Bob
Laurie

Meal: Salad of mixed baby greens with olive oil and rice vinegar plus some crumbled gorgonzola. Ditto on the lobster with drawn butter. Add prime rib with a bit of horseradish on the side. Twice-baked potato. Lightly sauteed asparagus and broccoli with a little butter and fresh lemon on top. For dessert, creme brulee. And a fine cabernet with the meal.
