I hate noisy, crowded, busy restaurants. I typically avoid family style restaurants where there are lot's of kids running on the loose, climbing on booths or tables, and too much activity going on. I like to relax and enjoy my meal and not have to shout over all the commotion in order to engage in a conversation. If I'm all tensed up I don't enjoy the dining experience.

I'd rather dine in restaurants that has live jazz .. but only with friends .. with family it should be intimate which is the norm here in arabia .. somewhere up hill in the outskirts of the city with my SO would be a romance filled weekend .. if i'd have money to burn then a hired yacht with wife and no baby on board

But perhaps the most significant change is the energy level in these new restaurants. The music is incredibly loud and the building is constructed to make noise echo around the place.

What do you think of these loud busy restaurants? Do you like the high energy and the loud hip music? Or a quiet place with just a handful of tables?
Both. It really depends on my mood and the company.

Definitely small intimate restaurants. My favorite of all time is the Hyeholde in Pittsburgh. I go there as often as I possibly can afford to!

It completely depends on the occasion. For most of our dinners out, they are casual events shared with friends or family and lots of good food and drink. We especially like to go and hear live music, which is definitely loud. On Sundays during football season, we got out and watch football. It is loud, rowdy, and fun!

Once in awhile, we go to a small, intimate, quiet place with just the two of us for a nice dinner......but then again, we can have that every day at our house if we want to. So ..... we prefer high energy, happy places when we go out!!

Can't stand "live music". Most of the time it's some blowhard whaling on about something with crash boom bang guitar hero rejects in the background.

I don't like noisy places and enjoy conversation with people.

When I'm with just my husband, I prefer small and intimate. Our favorite restaurant, Poppy Hill Tuscan Kitchen - Italian Dining in Fredericksburg, Virginia , only seats 20-24.

When I'm with friends or we have the family with us, I prefer noisier places.
