She prepared some traditional Polish dishes - sausage, a great cabbage dish, potatoes . . . everything was scrumptious! She even got out the good china and set a beautiful table. What a lovely treat!
That's great and a reminder to ask for family recipes while we can.

We had some fresh from the orchard peaches and plums last month. Amazing how much better the quality.

Debsi feels so yucky today she is referring to herself in the third person. Very bad sign!

Baking a potato in the toaster oven right now. It will be topped with butter, cottage cheese, and sassy salt. If I'm still hungry perhaps the DH can be prevailed upon to make another bland food like rice or oatmeal from his extremely limited cooking repertoire. Carbs all around!

I made Okonomiyaki - which I fell in love with in Japan. I haven't quite perfected it yet but it is getting better each time. It is a kind of crepe topped with cabbage, bean sprouts, bacon, soba noodles, egg, and shrimp and topped with okonomi sauce which is like a thickened worcestershire sauce. I also add a little mayo on top of mine but not on the DH's - he hates mayo! It is layered like a napolean type thing. I was going to take a picture because the first one I made turned out great! However, I gave that one to the DH. The one I made for myself fell apart both times that I flipped it. Oh well! Still tasted great!
