Does anyone know if it would "work" if I just make arborio rice in a rice cooker, just like any other rice?

Meaning, just adding water...?

I don't want to make risotto, so I don't want to put butter, olive oil, wine, broth, Parmesan, etc... in. I just want to add water to the rice and have "normal" rice, but with arborio.

Would it come out OK, do you know?

Only one way to find out!!!

I'm a rice snob. I only like short grain anything. I prefer short grain brown rice, but I can NEVER find it...and when I do, it's like quadruple the price. Blah.

Fine, M, I'll let you know tomorrow... provided I haven't died from bloated, expanding rice in my intestines.

Don't die. Beesley's poop is NOT that exciting. He's no substitute for your Artie stories.

LOL... it's been pretty quiet on the Artie poop front, hasn't it? Meanwhile, I think he's due for anal sac expressing soon, unless he's able to do it naturally in the next few days.

That's really a bad topic for the food forum, isn't it? Anal sacs, I mean.
