Pulled pork in the beans, bacon lattice on top. Lots of ketchup in the middle with red onion and poblano pepper pieces.

I’m a New England baked bean purist, but I have gone over to the side of laziness.
B&M in the glass jar or can is authentic.
Bush’s is ok in a pinch.
I add brown sugar and embed a bunch of onion wedges in the beans, then cut the fatty ends of a bacon package and put them on top.
Bake at 325 until the onions are soft and the bacon is cooked. ...an hour or two.

Bacon, onion cooked in the bacon fat and a pinch of brown sugar or molasses to caramelize the onions, add to beams and simmer.

Bacon. This is my favorite recipe.

Hot and smoky baked beans.
