Do you have any I-HOPS in your area? Are they modern and sleek....or are they "old-style" I-HOPS? ....All we have are the new modern I-HOPS....I just can't get into eating in them...The atmosphere isn't fun anymore...They seem just like any other restaurant now...Nothing special...Same old same old and boring.....The atmosphere in the "old style" I-HOPS was more fun and exciting. How do you feel about them? Do any of the "old-style" I-HOPS even exist anymore? Thanks.....

No offense but I try to avoid IHOP's at all costs.

In my area there are newer IHOPs, but there are also numerous locally-owned alternatives that are light years better than the corporate slop IHOP serves up.

I've seen many old-style IHOP restaurants sprinkled around Orange County and the rest of the Southland, but I'd have to be out of other choices before I'd darken any of their doorways. Even Denny's is better, IMHO.

I agree. I ate that type of crap in school, why would I want to relive that again? They are just a buffet short of Golden Coral/Line up at the trough, imho.

The I-HOP commercials try to make their restaurants seem like "loads of fun." But their new modern and sleek restaurants don't have a fun atmosphere at all...I haven't been in one of their "old-style" restaurants for decades....We don't put I-HOP on our list when we think about going out to eat....not even for pancakes. We have a "Perkins" in our area and we like their pancake batter. Do you?....Lately we've just been making our own pancakes and waffles at home. We're going to try our hand at making chocolate chip pancakes tonight.

There are "I-HOP"s here and there down here. I don't know if they are modern or not because I wouldn't eat there if it was free. Worst chain restaurant there is, in my opinion

Who needs a "fun atmosphere" when eating hearty breakfast food? I'd rather have a "good food, good meat, good god let's eat" atmosphere. Fill mah bellay with yo delicious foodz.

I have heard about the "modern IHOPS", but if we have any here, I haven't seen them.

We did have a "DENNY'S DINER" (but it closed), it had a bright retro diner like decor with lots of metal, I kind of liked it. They didn't have all the food options the regular DENNY'S do though.

Of the big pancake chains, I prefer the Original Pancake House to IHOP and I've never ever had a good experience in a Denny's.

The local ones that I have been to have been quite good for BREAKFAST only. I bring my homemade maple syrup as I prefer that over what they serve. My only complaint is that for $6, they give me more food than I can eat. And unbelievably, they are better than most of the independents FOR BREAKFAST.

Their dinner menu is really mediocre - something only grandma would like.

As for the Original Pancake House, they ARE better but I am NOT willing to drop $30 for two people for breakfast.

Denny's was quite simply the worst breakfast that I have ever purchased.
