I am looking for any graduation open house ideas! I have 2 kids (twin boy and girl) that are graduating soon and we are stumped for any unique ideas other than the taco bar, baked potatoe bar, maybe hamburgers, you know, the usual. The open house takes place during the afternoon, so really we wouldn't have to serve a main meal, but, seems like we should have more than the chips and dips. I've asked the kids but they aren't much help.....
Brats on the grill with baked beans and potato salad. Keep Beans warm and potato salad cold. Another thing could be fancy cut chicken salad sandwiches with a pickle and cheese tray.

Congrats on your twins graduation!
That's weird!! Wife and I and kids attended a Mother of Twins club meeting years ago. They served Chili with grape jelly in it!!
We had a pig roast for my son's party. A guy came with a self contained van, hooked it up to our water and electricity and catered the whole thing..BBQ pork, corn on the cob, and the usual other stuff.
Also, for $250. we hired a bluegrass band for 2 hours. Around here we have Bluegrass Jams on Friday nights, and the players play for the fun of it, so they're open to playing at parties.
I think it really mostly depends on what they like. Think of their favorite foods and maybe try to incorporate that? For my HS graduation party I think (can't quite remember) that we had several types of strombolis cut into pieces, fruit tray, veggie tray, and I think a ham or deli tray.
For a recent open house and baby shower, my dad had nova lox on Melba toast (spread bread with cream cheese, sprinkle a few chopped chives and capers, top with slice of lox), some sort of lamb bites on mini pita (ground lamb with Greek spices and a spicy yogurt sauce on top), a ham, fish tray, spanakopita, brie cups with raspberry chipotle jelly, and a bunch of other things I can't remember. I know he wanted to make his Tuscan salad (panzanella) and put it in little endive leaves, but he got busy and didn't bother. His idea was to have everything be finger food.
