Toss a small open steel lined thermos for soup in the freezer for about twelve hours. Pack with super cold ice cream in the morning and seal with lid. Should be fine until lunch. I have also dropped the temperature in large half gallon Stanley thermos with dry ice to about -50f for quick freezing. Then after the dry ice evaporates I pour in my drinks and seal. They stayed ice cold for 24 hours. Caution don't seal the thermos while the dry ice is evaporating as it could cause an explosion.

I agree with bringing it yourself. I used to occasionally do that when my kiddos were in elementary school. I'd bring some kind of treat that they could share with their friends, then sit down with them at lunch. Not often maybe once every month or two. Both my kids loved it and I got a chance to know some of their friends who didn't live in the neighborhood or play on their sports teams.
