You guys are gonna love this little trick to save time cleaning corn.
I love grilled corn but I hate cleaning the silk on fresh core. Yesterday we had about 16 people over and I grilled corn along with bbq pork chops.
With the corn I folded back the green leaves and started to remove the silk. But as always some of the silk would not come off the ears. So I started thinking about what would work in the kitchen that would clean the silk.
I remember how the use a drum with rubber fingers spinning to remove the feathers from ducks, chickens, etc. I looked through my draws for something rubber and found one of those round rubber jaw openers that fits in your hand.
I held it in my hand and ran it across the ear and within two passes all of the silk was gone.
This is so easy that I feel stupid for not thinking of it before.
