In a little local burger joint in Contre Coeur, Montreal Province, CA:
"Cheeseburger, all dressed."
That was a thick Canadian-beef hamburger with a slice of ripe tomato, a slice of mild cheddar, slopped with coleslaw and stuck between a fresh bun. Charred on the outside, bloody on the inside. Not as good at a Louis burger but it was pretty amazingly delicious.
I had the most amazing sushi in Tokyo, right outside of the Tsukiji market.
I also had a really, really amazing meal in Kyoto, at some well known restaurant that gave us a private dining room and had lots of different options.
In Venice, my friend and I found this teeny tiny restaurant owned by two elderly ladies who made the best gnocchi.
I had the most amazing sushi right outside of the Tsukiji market, too! Best tuna I have ever had in my entire life!!! All other tuna pales in comparison. So sad that I'd have to travel all the way back there to get it again! Not that I would mind...
Dew is absolutely right. Tuna is one of the most delicious things one can ever eat, I completely agree.
Only one bite of toro and you never look at canned tuna again.
Another item I ate (not really a dish, sorry) is turron in Spain. I have been eating torrone my entire life - and I love it - but turron is very different yet somehow similar, and an unbelievably delicious thing.
