Without a doubt, Fresh Market in Knoxville, TN. Beautiful food (looks like a layout from a magazine), helpful employees and fresh, fresh, FRESH ingredients.
I'd love to say that Pro's Ranch Market in ABQ could be included (mirror image of your favorite place, Fontucky) but between the BLARING music- music is fine, burst eardrums whilst shopping, not- and the crowds and crowds of people making navigation dang near impossible, I just can't add it to the list.
I live in two cities. In Milwaukee, I like Sendiks, the Outpost co-op, and have a Whole Foods in my neighborhood also.
In Phoenix, I live only a couple of blocks from the public market and saturday farmer's market. I also make the occasional Whole Foods run, and fill in the rest at Fresh & Easy.
We have Willeys Farm Market and they sell everything. Great produce, hot foods and a deli, homemade baked goods, dairy items, garden center, and the best decorations and furniture. They have a nice selection of specialty items including gluten-free and vegan. They also have another facility, Third Base, that is not as large but has nice selections.

While I have not visited the FM in Knoxville I have enjoyed food from the bakery and prepared foods department. Quality and ingredients have always been outstanding.
I am not sure I have a best food shopping experience yet. Perhaps, if my favorite three grocers and farmer's market were all in the same centre, then that would qualify as my best food shopping experience.
The city "farmer's" market in Adana, Turkey. Cheap, abundant, and fresh produce/goods in a large portion of the city.
