Ford is recalling 144,000 F-150 pickups from the 2005 and 2006 model years because of concerns that the airbags may deploy without warning, the automaker said on Tuesday.

So they are going to add a warning system to it, you hear the alarm go off and have 3 seconds to stop and hide, THEN the airbag goes off.

See, this is why GM is better than Ford. They allow the operator to completely remove the steering wheel and hence eliminate the risk of accidental air bag deployment.
