There are two things to look out for. First is the TV adds from the manufacturer (Ford in this case) that says starting at 13k. Yes, you might be able to order one for that, with no power anything, no sound system, no AC, stick shift. They would most likely charge you for shipping to the dealer and put you well over buying one on the lot, however.

The other thing is the newspaper ads that say $13,000. In the fine print it says that price includes things like a 1k credit for being in the military, another $2k for being a recent college graduate, $500 for loyalty (trading in a Ford), and maybe another $500 for being the 7th son of a 7th son or some other thing that no one can meet.

About 9 of 10 times, an advertised special price will be one vehicle only and sold before you can get there.

I'll be completely honest with you. I am a die-hard Ford guy. I've owned mostly Fords in my life time. I currently drive a 2012 Focus. I went to the dealer with the intention of getting a Fiesta but it was too small and cramped so I spent a little extra to get a car 10 time better.

My wife needed a new car and I wanted her desperately to get a Fiesta. We went and looked at one and she fell in love with it. The problem was the price. The dealership wouldn't budge on the price even though it was a left over 2012 when the 13s were on the lot for over 2 months.

She now drives a 2013 Hyundai Accent. Roomier interior (rear seat can actually fit adults), more features for the price, better warranty. The car has been absolutely flawless for the 10 months we have owned it. Meanwhile my Focus has been in for repairs 3 times in the last year with 1 more coming up once the parts are in.

As a huge fan of Ford and their vehicles I recommend going to look at a Hyundai Accent.

All I will say - why a Fiesta ? As said above- cramped and underpowered. Are you looking for a compact sedan ? For 13k - you can even get a midsize sedan with slightly higher mileage and comparable fuewl economy ratings.
