In a short sale, the buyer gets the house for market value.

It may seem cheap to the sellers, but the buyer is just paying what it's worth.

I didn't say I was going to help them write the letter. When the current situation was explained to me I wondered about it and posted it here. Last I checked, this was a discussion forum.
